Past Events & Projects
The MET Spring Benefit Horse Show was held April 18 and 19 at Masterson Station Park. Saturday's classes featured hunters and equitation, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Sunday's classes were for jumpers and for a combined fee one could also school the Masterson cross-country course which had been prepared especially for that weekend.
A record participation of over 300 individual entries made for a full day on Saturday. The perfect weather contributed to the success of the day and positive responses were the norm for the event. Every class was filled and classes went for twelve consecutive hours.
Sunday's conditions were not as perfect, with rain coming down, at times, in buckets. The footing in the out-door arena, though sloppy, stood up beautifully to use, never becoming slick. Every class was full, even though the rain would have been a good excuse to stay home.
MET is especially grateful to our corporate sponsor, Brumfield Hay and Grain. They contributed gift bags to all participants and gift certificates to the class winners.
It would be impossible to hold a horse show without volunteers. MET gratefully acknowledges all those who helped prepare the arena and cross-country course and those who worked during the show on both days. Thank you!
Thanks also go to exhibitors who loyally support our efforts at Masterson Station Park, especially the brave souls who came out on Sunday to show and school, including our own Advisory Board member and First Lady, Jane Beshear.
